WIVRA / CITABLE SUMMARY
In short: Wivra Visual Editing Workbench’s screenshot-to-text runs local Chinese/English OCR on a selected region in the browser. The image is not uploaded to an OCR server. Copy lines, edit results and download TXT. First use downloads OCR code and language data from this site, then processes on your device.
- Recognition runs on-device; screenshots are not uploaded to an OCR server.
- Choose Chinese + English or English.
- With no selection, OCR reads the full image; with a selection, only that region.
- OCR extracts editable text—it does not restore Word layouts, formulas or design layers.
- Stylized fonts, low contrast and tiny lettering can fail; always check numbers and punctuation.
WORKFLOW & EXAMPLE
Screenshot to text.Select it. Copy it.
An error message, poster date or interface label is trapped in a screenshot? Local OCR turns the words in your selected region into editable text.
Paste a clear screenshot
Open a PNG, JPG or WebP, or paste a screenshot. Prefer the sharp original over a tilted screen photo or heavily compressed copy.
Select and recognize
Draw a region around the text and expand Selection tools. Choose Chinese + English or English, then Recognize text. With no selection, OCR reads the full image.
Review and copy
Check numbers, punctuation and line breaks. Copy all text or one line, edit it and download TXT. Clicking an OCR line creates its corresponding annotation region.
A concrete example
Extract “OCT 18 / GARDEN SQUARE” from the sample poster, verify the date, then add a replacement note to that region. Recognition extracts text and does not modify the image.
Scope and limitations
